Checklist: I will use this to grade essay 3. Please read this for standards in grading.

What sources may I use?

You may only use Databases for all electronic sources. Please remember that with the next essay, you must use the college databases for your secondary sources. Do not use the Internet for your sources.

Primary sources: this are the text/texts; that is to say, the story/stories/poem/poems you are analyzing. A citation for each of these must go on the Works Cited page.

Secondary sources: these are scholarly articles written about the texts. A citation for each of these must go on the Works Cited page.

View this tutorial to find out how to use the databases.

How do I write the citations for the Works Cited page?

Use Knight Cite to do the work for you. Be sure you click on "Electronic" on the left side of the page.

With Knight Cite you have to play around with it a bit. Notice on the left bar there are different options to           select: journal, newspaper, electronic, basic book, anthology.
I have recommended this site because in the past I had to have students buy a book on MLA style. Using Knight Cite is a lot cheaper and easier.
