Welcome,

This class is an introduction programming using Visual Basic 2008.  We will cover program design, flow control, modular programming, and some of the most important Visual Basic 2008 controls.  Other topics include arrays, files, databases, web applications, and classes.

Your programming assignments will deal with problems that range from structured to semi-structured scenarios.  The algorithm will be given to you so you can concentrate on learning the IDE and how to code.  However, working as a programmer is rarely that simple.  For a good review of problem solving strategies consult the Bits and Bytes audio series provided by Microsoft.

Employment for VB Developers is excellent for those who really know their stuff.  Getting a degree from Collin College is an excellent way of preparing yourself for this challenging endeavor.  I have developed a web page dedicated to employment topics – Feel free to take advantage of it.

I look forward to being your guide to the world of Visual Basic programming.  This website is best viewed using the Internet Explorer with a desktop area of 1024 X 768 pixels.  If you have any questions do not hesitate to contact me.
