I do not believe that she handled it well at all. She was so taken by her love for Hippo it lead to his death and her own. She played it like she wanted him and if she couldnt have him nobody could. She used to much sneaking around and secret plotting. She needed to take a stand for her feelings and she didnt. She was more ready to blame someone else then actually show her feelings. There are so many other rational ways she could have shown her love. All that she showed was hate and discussed. If she really love Hippo she would have wanted him happy not dead. She took the wrong way to go about her feelings.
