This is a very touching poem that carries episodes that might have happened to us, something that absolutely no one wants to go through. The mood of this poem is very lonely, sad and sickly. The apperance is worn-out, sick, pale and witherly.Through this poem, we see the narrator answering questions when he is asked why he looked very pale and sickly.According to me, the narrator is lost in the world of being desperate for love.He is imagining someone asking him questions as to why he is sickly and then goes ahead and answers them.Through his imagination, he sees an imaginary lady. The lady gives him gifts and he gives he gifts back too.The lady takes him to her house and he falls asleep. In his imagination, they both fall in love with each other annd this heals this man from his sickly apperance that he had before. After a while,he comes back to himself and realizes that all that he thought was going on was not real.He feels broken-hearted and finds out that he is still the same way he was before he met the beautiful girl. I would relate this poem greatly with Knight because there is a feeling of a loneliness. Although there is a sense of hope in this relationship, it turns out that there is broken-heartedness.
