Personally I think that the Knight is dreaming of another time and place, of a woman that he had known in the past. I belive that the Knight and the Warrior's are on their way to war and he disaccosiated from his reality and tansported himself to time that was much more pleasent. But toward the end of the poem he comes back to his grim reality. The mood is somber and grim and it is very easy to relate to the Knight and the Warriors.
