Charles is a husband that loves his wife yet doesn't understand her needs or his inability to meet them. He is thoughtful of her, but yet all his efforts come as responses to problems that have already occured rather than intercepting them before they get out of hand. I don't think that he is to blame for the failures of the relationship completely, but yet I do see where he contributed to the problems by not excepting that he could not meet her needs. Also he didn't try to change his life style. But on the same note she isn't blameless either. She never confronted him with her problems nor did she try to change herself. (Group: this was my first chance to get in an make a posting on this issue. I don't have a lot of time but I will try to respond to your postings as well. If you want to discuss other questions on the book you can e-mail me at rachelnaenae@yahoo.com Thanks) Rachel Sanderlin
