I think that Emma is looking for the ideal man. Something that she will never find. She has an idea of what her husband should be like from the books she has read. The fantasys that she can not live with the men she dates. She wants a man that will keep her happy. Someone thats not boring. She wants a man out going like herself. She also wants a man that will be strong in be there for her. She has not found all of the qualities in the men she has had affairs with or married. She has to have all or she will not be happy. She doesnt want to just be happy with what she can get. She wants more and more to the point that she may never get what she wants. She wants the perfect person but she might not give them a try if they dont live up to her expectations from the start. I think we can all see this in ourselves while dating. A person might be perfect in everyway except for one little thing, they might not get the chance to show how great of a boyfriend or girl friend they can be. Nobody is perfect in the world. So we can not expect others to be perfect if we ourselves are not.
