The Collin County Law Enforcement Academy (CCLEA) will be conducting the next part-time Basic Peace Officer Course (BPOC), commencing   March 29, 2010 and concluding on  December 2010. This class is intended for motivated and committed individuals who desire the opportunity to serve in the law enforcement profession as a fulltime or reserve peace officer in the State of Texas.

Class attendance is mandatory. There are no accommodations made for missing class, other than for emergencies and/or illness. Additionally, there are several holiday breaks scheduled throughout this course to accommodate the cadet and family time.

Deadlines:

• All applications must be submitted by           February 2010             .
• All applicants must be tentatively approved by     March 2010                .
• All TCLEOSE requirements (physical, drug screening, psychological) must be complete by   March 2010     .
• All Uniforms, PT dress, and book(s) are required          March 2010                   .

Note: The class may start at a later date until the required number of students is confirmed.

Classes will be conducted at the Central Park Campus of Collin College located in McKinney, Texas.

This class will normally meet 16 hours each week. The tentative scheduled class hours are:

• Monday - Thursday 6:30-10:30 pm
• (1) - 8 hour Saturday class a month

The course tuition is $1,000.00
