The class will cover the history, abuse, and identification of the classic drugs such as heroin, cocaine, LSD, marijuana and methamphetamine, along with the newer drugs such as cheese, fentanyl, Oxycontin, ecstasy, GHB, & ketamine. A portion of the class will deal with clandestine laboratories covering the types of drugs manufactured, equipment needed, chemical sources, the main syntheses used, safety, and booby traps.

This is not a clandestine laboratory safety certification class.

Adam Sobotka retired as a group supervisor from the DEA Laboratory system after 34 years of service.  Since 1998 he has conducted several hundred classes dealing with drugs of abuse and field testing certification.  He is a member of the Texas, Louisiana, and Oklahoma narcotic officer’s associations and of one national and three regional Forensic Science associations.  Mr. Sobotka has testified as an expert witness approximately 150 times in 9 states, Washington, DC and Puerto Rico.
