COMMUNICATIONS SPECIALIST                                 Salary Range: $33,683 - $44,879

Must possess a HS Diploma or GED.  Position requires shift work including weekends and holidays.  Prefer candidate with 6 months experience as a 911 Dispatcher and has professional customer service skills.  Must obtain listed certification within 1 year of hire: Certifications:  TCIC/NCIC, 9-1-1, Fire Service Dispatch, TCLEOSE Telecommunications Operator.

RECORDS CLERK-I                                                      Salary Range:  $29,096 - $38,768

High school diploma or GED; supplemented by 1 to 2 years general office and/or administrative support experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.  Prefer Bi-lingual and governmental experience.

•                   Process Case Reports – Fax to appropriate agencies, file and take appropriate action on case information.

•                   Process Accident Reports and mail to appropriate agencies.

•                   Prepares case packets to go to the District Attorney for submission.

•                   Answer phones and direct calls to the appropriate source, i.e., Detective, Justice of the Peace, District Attorney.

•                   Provide customer service as needed for walk-up window, i.e., record requests, fingerprints, solicitor permits and general information.

•                   Process request for release of information to news papers.

•                   Process all day care worker permits and day center permits.

•                   Provide Notary services as needed.

•                   Compile data for monthly and annually statistical reports.

POLICE OFFICER

REQUIREMENTS:  Must be at least 21 years old and must be a high school graduate or possess a GED Certification and have 45 hours of college credit from an accredited college. 

 

College Credit:  Receive three (3) college credit hours up to a maximum accumulation of 15 hours for every one (1) year Active Military Duty and/or Previous Law Enforcement Experience as a licensed Police Officer.

 

Previous Service Credit:  One (1) Step Pay Increase for every five (5) years as a licensed Police Officer with a max of 15 years experience, which corresponds with Step 4 of the Pay Table.

BACKGROUND PACKET PROCESS

Applicants must obtain and complete the background packet prior to the test date.  The background packet must be submitted at time of registration prior to the start of the test. 

 

Please note: If you do not bring a completed Background Packet you will not be allowed to take the test

 

Background Packets will be available at City Hall from 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Monday thru Friday, located at 385 S. Goliad (main floor reception desk) or on our website at www.rockwall.com under the Human Resources webpage.
