While many candidates
believe they must be sponsored
by a local agency, sponsorship is not necessary at CCCCD. By meeting just a
few requirements, you can apply for entry without sponsorship. To apply: You must be a U.S. citizen. You must be at least 21 years old. You must have a high school diploma or GED. (with a GED you must have completed 12 credit hours with accredited institution GPA 2.0 or higher.) You must have a clear criminal record and be able to pass a comprehensive background check. Applicants must also complete a personal interview, physical, psychological and drug screen exam. In order to keep classes to a minimum, only a limited number of students will be admitted at the start of each training period. Students sponsored by a law enforcement agency must provide a letter of sponsorship. Tuition is approximately $1000 per semester, fluctuating slightly each year. Students are also required to pay for books, uniforms and other equipment that may be necessary. Tuition is due upon registration; however, financial aid and veteran's benefits are available. Student's may contact the CCCCD Financial Aid office at 972.548.6760.
